Playing Catch-Up

Ok, let me apologize 1000 times for not writing anything in forever! Our lives have been so hectic, but it's what I like to call a beautiful disaster!

Braxton has added new words to his vocabulary, which include fish, bird, bye bye momma or dada (a complete sentence haha), cheeto, and vita (vitamin). It's just been amazing watching him take off so quickly. Today he climbed up in his high chair and slid the tray on by himself! haha He's a stinker! He has been loving all the "ball" that's been on television lately. He will sit on the couch with us and watch it, and pretend to throw with the pitcher. He's also running EVERYWHERE! I mean literally running, he's only got one speed and it's super lightning fast! We had a nose bleed the other day. He used to get them all of the time, but we went several months without any. I guess the dry heat is causing him to get them once again. Last time we weighed in he was a whopping 19 lbs 4 oz! Luke and I will take him in tomorrow to be weighed in, so I'll post how much we hit tomorrow! Other than that Braxton's been eating amazingly well, hamburgers, hotdogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, french fries, peaches, spaghetti, the list really does keep going, FINALLY! He had his follow up appointment with the geneticist, and she said besides us having to worry about ADHD in the future he was doing great! Which made us all breathe a sigh of relief. After everything you've witnessed him going through in his short little life, these were very welcomed words.

,hr>

I just recently had a breat reduction, 4 days after my best friend got married, Betsy and Phil we love and congratulations!! Braxton and I were both in the wedding! I was scared to death that Braxton wouldn't be able to walk down the aisle, but he did, and did great! Of course we didn't carry a pillow, but we still did it! Back to my surgery. Everything's been going great, I'm still in quite a bit of pain, but if you haven't heard the real story from Luke you need to...but I passed out on him in the shower Sunday afternoon! He was not very happy with me. Anyways, I'm doing great now, and I can't wait for the next couple of weeks to fly by and for me to make a full recovery. Thanks to everyone for all the prayers! I think Luke really needed most of them anyways =)

Luke's job is still going great! He's been off since last Thursday in order to take care of me and Braxton. I'm sure he will tell you taking care of Braxton has been much easier than taking care of me! Luke is really meeting some amazing men at church, and they have been so influential to him in his walk. We have truly been blessed! You guys know who are, and thank you!

Luke and I took Braxton to the Mayborn Museum today. Honestly, I think Luke enjoys it more than Braxton! haha But shhh...I didn't say that! It was good to get out of the house, and not be going to a doctor's appointment for once!

Amber and Halen Mae just got home today from Victoria, where Chris is the head coach of the Victoria Generals. They've been to the beach, and watched lots of baseball so I can't wait to hear their stories!

Growing everyday!

We have a couple of new words to add to Braxton's vocabulary. Puppy, a lion's roar, and pig snorts! haha It's just hysterical! We had to go stay at Aunt Amber's today because mom and dad were getting wood floors put in, so we got to experience a different surrounding ALL DAY! We had a good time, eventhough poor little Braxton's head found Amber's counter a couple of times. He ate non stop all day long! Cheetos of course!

We had a great weekend, we went to see Luke's sister and brother in law and our nephews in Deleon for our nephews' birthdays. We had a blast! We were only supposed to stay for one night, but ended up staying the entire weekend!! I even experienced Bingo for the first time!! I didn't win of course, but it was so much stinking fun! Flamingo Bingo in Stephenville =) Also, if you're ever driving through Deleon you have got to stop at The Scarlet Ibis, but be prepared to buy because they have so much CUTE stuff! It's right off main street in downtown Deleon, in the same row of stores as the old Blue Moon Cafe. Anyways, long story short, we had the best time ever!!

I am officially a senior in college....WOO HOO!!! I never thought I'd be able to say that, but I AM!!! I will actually graduate in the summer of 2010 if all goes right! I will have my BS in Criminal Justice, and I can find a job! haha Not to brag, but ok I'm going to, I made the Dean's List last semester, and I just got 3 A's again this past semester! I'm really working hard, and it's so nice to see it paying off!

Luke is still loving Brazos, he's been in town this week, thank goodness! I've gotten used to him being out of town, but it's so nice when he's actually able to be here!

Hope everyone's doing well, oh Braxton can finally turn around in his car seat!! YES!!! hahaha

Choo Choo

So we're working on a couple of new words...puppy and choo choo! It's hilarious! We are having one problem though, Braxton has discovered how to hit people. Not a good thing!! We're trying our darndest to keep from doing that. But I think the rest of the family would have to agree that we have HIT the terrible 2's stage.

We were supposed to go to the Cook Children's NICU reunion, but because of the swine flu it has been cancelled :( We were really excited about getting to see all of our friends, but I would rather see everyone healthy. I just pray that something will be done to cure this.

The Waco March for Babies went amazing! We had a great turn out, and people really had a lot of fun! I hope we can pull this off again next year! Thank you to everyone who came out, and to everyone who donated to this cause!

Luke's going on a church fishing trip tomorrow for the weekend so it'll be me and Braxton! WOO! haha He'll be a good baby, we'll probably go watch a baseball game, weather permitting.

Thanks for checking up on us!

French Fries!!

Well, we figured out a food Braxton likes!! FRENCH FRIES!!! He ate like an entire thing of french fries tonight for dinner! And almost a whole milk shake! This was after not eating hardly anything all day! I guess we might be buying french fries and a milk shake every night. But hey whatever works. You can definitely tell he's lost weight, or gotten taller, but his little belly he was getting is not there any longer. He has learned how to run, it's so funny! He runs especially fast when you catch him doing something he KNOWS he's not supposed to be doing. He also ate 3 miniature milky way bars tonight, he had chocolate all over his face. It was hilarious! I'm hoping this week goes much better than last week (pneumonia). He's almost 100% congestion free, his nose is still running just a little bit.

We got a nice surprise tonight...Luke isn't working out of town this week!!! I think we both needed this, he's been gone a lot lately and it was beginning to take its toll on us. He just walked through the door, and Braxton's face just absolutely lit up, it was so cute!! They got to play outside, and just have a good time.

I guess that's about it for now, nothing major is going on.

Getting over pneumonia

Well, we did have pneumonia at the beginning of the week, but luckily a week later, it's pretty much gone! Still a little congestion, but not near what he had! We are very thankful it did not turn into anything serious! Braxton hasn't been eating real well lately, we're not sure what's going on, but he won't take more than about 2 bites of something, and sadly, it's baby food. He won't hardly touch anything that's real food. It's just crazy because after he got the stomach flu he started eating anything and everything in sight, now nothing. The only thing keeping him alive is his Boost Kids Essentials and some goldfish. We're just at a point where we don't know what to do! I just feel like when I try to explain it to the doctors no one really believes me that he does not eat. I'm not making it up or exaggerating, the child just does not eat. I am starting to worry just a little about his vocabulary, but I still think we're doing pretty good. Braxton's so smart, he catches on to stuff so quickly it just blows your mind. We are just thankful everyday for our blessing. Luke's been working out of town almost every week for the past almost 5 weeks now. It's tough not having him here, but he's doing the best he possibly can for our family. We miss him so much, but it's so nice when he's here. That's really about it, other than this semester for me is almost over!! YEA!!! But one of my summer classes starts like May 26...ARE YOU SERIOUS! Hopefully I'll survive the 12 hours I have doomed myself with! Take care, and God bless!

Refreshing weekend

Although I missed my family TREMENDOUSLY this weekend, it was so nice to get away! I went on Meadowbrook's Women's Retreat this weekend, and although I had never been, I had SO MUCH FUN!!! Of course we acted like a bunch of 13 year olds, but I needed that so badly. Oh and I did my first ever zipline! Pictures to come!

Luke took Braxton to the doctor on Friday for his 18 month check-up, and as usual everything is going along just great! Braxton finally weighs a whopping 18 lbs 3 oz! Until Braxton hits 20 lbs I will continue to add the ounces to his weight :) He's just getting so big. We're going to try and teach him how to feed himself now, so if you have any advice, I'm ALL EARS! Motor skills wise Braxton's right now track with where he should be. We're still having some problems with his eating, or his lack there of, but we're hoping it's due to his other top teeth coming in, and nothing serious. He's very picky about what he eats lately, but for breakfast this morning we got to eat, pudding and whipped cream ( I was totally jealous)!

Hope everyone had a great weekend, I know I did =)

A new beginning...

Ok, we have moved our family's blog to this site. It's much easier for people to check it because you don't need a password to do it!

Braxton's doing great! He plays so hard ALL day long, and then doesn't really sleep at night. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but it works for him. We're working on a new word, bear. He had on dinosoar pj's today and he kept pointing to the dinosoars and saying bear. It was hilarious. But the funniest part is how he says bear...baeeeeaaar. He's got a very southern accent :)

Everyone's doing great! Luke's still loving his job, he's been out of town, but as soon as he steps foot through the door him and Braxton are inseparable! It's so cute! I'm doing really well with all 3 of my classes. I'm hoping to be finished by December 2010! Whew, I thought I would never see the light at the end of the tunnel, but I AM!! And I must be it's a great feeling.

Hope everyone's doing fine, thanks for checking on us, God bless!
